The Lucas 1130 lamp definitely has threads for two bolts as mentioned so either the rear bolt is missing or the factory have only drilled one hole, the one that goes through the wing stay. Less holes less corrosion i guess?
On my car the bolt(s) are also the earth, some cars may use an earth wire which is probably better.
I tried the led bulbs but they are bright white and make the headlights look distinctly yellow, so reverted to originals.

Hi Graham, i have night breaker h4 halogens already, it must be the led bulbs being super bright white, just did not look right, the sidelights just upstaged the headlights, will try Osram Silverstars when i next need headlamps thanks john k

Put a light blue filter behind the sidelight lens? Nightbreakers are probably an improvement on Silverstars John. Cheers,

Use double sided tape between the lamp and wing.

I did consider using a yellowish or grey filter to tone the whiteness down Graham, (blue- looks too modern i think ) but could not find a suitable material (something like a Cinemoid Gell would work but a lot of trial and error involved, in the dark too. Just surrendered in the end, pity because led bulbs last a lot longer, which was the point of putting them in place of filament bulbs. regards john k

When I checked my sidelights, the rear bolts were missing and I assumed they had fallen out. Perhaps they were not fitted at the factory. Since I replaced them and put longer bolts on the front ones, with a locking nut, the sidelights stay secure and do not move.

Neil Later lights have two bolts, the type in the picture only have the one with the cable down the centre.
