Yes, a very comprehensive and useful set of pictures, showing access to thed whole BB area. Thanks. Rufus, good to know it can also be done from underneath, hot. Interesting that you changed the oil several times and good that it is now noticeably quieter.
Did you notice a difference in the noise with the new oil Q8?

I mentioned in another thread about the oil some of us use here in the US on our Harley transmissions and what has done wonders for reducing the 1st/5th straight cut gear noise has been Redline Heavy Duty Shockproof gear lube.
It reduced the noise in my trans so much it's hard to tell 4th from 5th gear anymore.
I'm not sure how much it will reduce noise in the M3W's, but if you're going to be changing the box lube, it might be worth a try.
Very nicely detailed procedure with great pictures.

Thank you Q8 for the full documented explanation.
I am planing to change the oil on my 2012 3 wheeler tomorow. I realised that I did not find folowing intruction in the Morgan User booklet: - volume of oil in the bevel box? - what is the size of the drain plug? In your instruction, you mentioned plug #25, but I am not sure it was meant "item #25" or "size 25 socket".
Thanks guys in advance for your help and answers,
Cheers from Vienna, Austria

Watch out Nico, there is some miss-information in this thread. No one's fault, it's just that the accepted best-practice way of doing things has changed over the years. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/04/26/BB-Oil-Change-1.jpg) Therefore, there is no need to strip out the seats and rear bulkhead to change the BB oil. The above photo shows how you access the drain & fill ports on a car not fitted with the NVH kit. If your car is fitted with the NVH brackets then access to the ports is not easy. Personally I use a short 10mm hex bar in conjunction with a long 10mm spanner to deal with the fill plug. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/04/26/BB-Oil-Change-2.jpg) The drain plug is 24mm. When draining the old oil out of the BB, I usually have the car raised on axle stands with the front of the car slightly higher than the rear. Then I lower the front so that the car is level for filling. From memory you will need between 300 & 400mL of oil. A Sealey TP6804 1ltr Multipurpose Mini Pump will make the job easier. Just pump the new oil in until it starts to spill out of the fill port. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/04/26/Screen-Shot-2020-04-26-at-18.17.33.png)
