One of the improvements Morgan made to the suspension is a welded in place cross-bar. Does anyone know if the bolted in version can be retro-welded and, if all the other upgrades are fitted, does it really make much difference? Does anyone have pictures of both versions?
I was shown an article in Morgan World magazine which had pictures of the 2014 changes including my first view of the NVH ? Bracket for the bevel box. I don't recall seeing the cross bracket as it was just a quick look. I presume it is the latest edition. Can any one scan and post pix?
I have seen pictures of this x-brace, it has 3 parts: 2 diagonals, from where the bolted in brace brackets are back to a central position on a cross bar which is just underneath the front grill. Then a brace between the diagonals above the steering rack.
I hope my description conjures up the correct picture in your mind.
My unit #917 has a bolted in crossbar right behind the engine cylinders and over the steering rack. Don't have any cross bars that connect to the main cross frame under front bonnet. Stronger than the early frames buy less bracing than the 2014 units Sorry no picture today

There have been some chassis breakages, not too many, but keep an eye on that area. It may be possible for a good fabricator to make and weld in a brace similar to the Morgan one?
