He was indeed. A really talented artist. Parisian Walkways remains one of the greatest guitar riffs ever.

I was also saddened to see in today's Torygraph of the passing of the great Bunny Rugs of 3rd World.

We were lucky enough to see them at the New Morning club in Paris in 2012 - with an audience of no more than 300. We chatted with Bunny Rugs after the concert; my wife told him that the last time we'd seen Third World had been at the Brixton Academy in 1987.

He thanked us for making him feel about a million years old.

Lucky enough to see GM live twice. He was not just a great technician - he also had soul. A sad loss.

I felt very sad when he passed away. May be I'm more into Jazz and Jazz Guitarists, but Gary Moore was one of the truest Les Paul players ever. A sound that came directly from his heart via strings to my heart. Also an awesome "sound" (more than just sound) when he played the '59 Lespaul he bought from Peter Green (can be googled).

Thanks for that, made me search for some of his early stuff.

Don't know whether Skid Row was his first band but it was my first experience of his music. Had a Goldring Lenco turntable then which had a variable speed setting and we used to slow the album right down just to pick out the notes. Even then it was too fast!

Found a couple of tracks

The tracks you found were from German TV "Beat Club" with Uschi Nerke (announcer) who was back in the Sixties a wet dreams girl next to British Diana Rigg.

Thanks a lot for that one. Great Music!! TBH I wasn't aware that John Mayall was still in business in 2008. Most of us will know the sixties Beano album with Eric.
