It is your First Time, Peter.

I would always take it via your nearest Dealer for a quick pre MOT Check and let them get the MOT done. coffee

I have always done that for Peace of Mind.

I am take mine to Tim Ayres at New Elms near Gillingham in Dorset. Not to far from Swindon and I can recommend him for being very thorough and his mechanic is very knowledgeable.

Along the M4 and south you have a few choices: Richard Thorn near Aldermarston, Williams near Bath and Tim Aytes near Shaftsbury. All are highly recommended.
North of the M4 I don't know.
