Series 4 cars were auto or manual - there are manuals if you search.

I'm with TRMAN!
Still think the Aero convertible (for me the series 3 / 4) is the best of the later big Mogs. Don't see why the Plus 8 is more desirable with hardly any boot, much worse wind protection from screen / doors, worse dash, worse hood (sidescreens are not a step forward from the Aero hood!). Having said that I have really enjoyed driving the Plus 8 and it feels like an Aero with a more controlled rear end so that is good!
SS is too expensive by at least £25K and Coupe is just the wrong car. As said above without the convertible aspect it loses much more than it gains and is never going to compete with a Porsche for day to day use.
Also, for me the manual is a much nicer overall drive. Never really enjoyed the creep or overall feel of the auto, although I accept it's a quicker gearchange, and faster in many circumstances.
I agree that smaller and more efficient engines make sense but they have to sound good. A straight 4 would easily fit of course.
The only other significant change I'd make would be to have a better music / satnav option, heated seats, make the boot open from the remote control, think a bit more about some of the servicing issues and accessibility, ensure the hood fits properly before letting cars out of the factory, and slightly re-work the rear end to give it more of a flavour of the supersports ie. use the Lancia lights and improve the way the boot meets the wings and rear valence. And stop the bubbling round the rear lights too!
There you go - free consultancy.
If they can make one of these and sell it for about £80K then I'll be in the queue. But they have to keep it below £90K loaded or it has no real chance imho.

Could it be something as simple the fact that the BMW V8 as used has now been discontinued therefore the small volume of current V8 based cars can continue to use up the remaining stock. Don't forget, Morgan said they would not build a trad V8 but the German market demanded it.

I guess it comes down to cost style and personal taste

Indeed. I think for now the Aero will die when the supply ofV8s dry up. We have seen nothing to suspect otherwise, and without Charles to drive this ahead I can only suspect it will stall.
I can see the plus 8 being developed further and becoming a plus 6 with an engine swap, but doubt that an Eva or anything like it will come to pass.
Armchair speculation by someone with no inside knowledge so this is pure guesswork - but based on what is being shown at shows right now that's about all we could say. Roll on Geneva - you never know...

Tend to agree, but that is a real shame if the Aero range dies as I think it's still an important image booster for Morgan, albeit probably a financial horror.
A Plus 6 or Aero 6 might work but it needs to be a much better engine implementation than the Brooklands 3.7 V6 I tried a few months back - the hanging revs between gear changes spoiled the drive to the extent that I would not dream of buying unless there's a simple aftermarket fix, and the gearbox, clutch, braking and steering was not what I want in a new Morgan at those sorts of prices. Sounded ok but not great too. Sorry!
Love my M3W despite it not having the latest bits on it, but I think I got a pretty good one out of the box.
Sticking with Morgan though, even if the new version of the Ferrari California sounds like a good overall proposition. I'm too old and ugly for one of those though! Come to think of it, I'm too old and ugly for any car without a roof and darkened windows but at least with the Mogs people look at the car and don't care too much about me......

Series 3 & 4 Aero's have boots opening with the remote as standard (when working). I had the heated seat option retrofitted. The bubbling issueis something to live with I guess :-) I have better speakers, an amp under the passenger footrest and a sub behind passenger seat. Some people aren't interested in stereo's so I wouldn't press Morgan to do anything but basic and let owners upgrade themselves.

Getting o/t but the Ferrari that is currently making me dream is the FF... Room for the whole family, and seemingly still a real sports car performance.. Back to Morgan - TRMan - an S4 with a stereo upgrade is what you need - get looking!

That thing sounds superb and revs very quickly. Use 0W20 oil too! (I had one for a weekend 18 months ago - and can be blamed for my "search for a V8" which lead me to the Supersports)
