First post so be gentle.......
Do the Goodrich braided hoses dispense with the hard line fitted to the calpiers? I have just purchased a set (SMN 0300-3c) for my 1992 4/4 and the front hoses are longer than the original rubber hoses and have an end fitting that looks like it fits directly to the caliper. I have queried with Goodrich and they say that the hoses they supply fit directly to the caliper and do not connect to the pipe that is fitted to the caliper as original (Goodrich describe this as the hard line).

Remove the old rubber brake hose that comes off your brake calipers. Fit the new metal braided brake line in its place. Re bleed brakes. Job done

I was recently supplied the "new" rubber brake hose instead of one to fit a 70's car.
The newer one had the same tapered fitting on both end to fit a flare nut. The "older" fitting had this on one end only and on the other a flat/shoulder fitting straight to the caliper.

Hi,when removing the old pipe and bracket don't forget to safely wire up the caliper bolts,not sure where you would wire them as they attach to the old brackets.
