Indeed. I think for now the Aero will die when the supply ofV8s dry up. If the supply of BMW V8's dries up, maybe MMC could do a deal with JLR to supply the jaguar V8 in some form. Could be a long time... BMW support the supply of replacement engines for more than 10 years after the last model it was used in stops being sold. Also the Version of the V8 used by MMC is bespoke, built for MMC, it isn't used in any BMW. I'd guess the supply will end when the supply contract between BMW and MMC says it will!

There are a lot of videos on YouTube of interviews with CM about the V8 - and he always pushes that the BMW engineers love the fact that "their" V8 is being used a in a proper lightweight car.

Agreed.
My S3 has a button on the remote to allow the opening of the boot but this never worked and the remote system was updated anyway to an S4 system at the factory. Apart from this it's worked very well and much better than the rather pathetic remote control the car originally came with.
But still doesn't open the boot and never has.
Are you sure it's supposed to?? I didn't think it was a feature of the S3 at all...???

I made enquiries direct to MMC last year about the possibility of getting a new Aero 8 S4. Initially I was pointed at the Plus 8. After explaining that I didn't want a Plus 8 I was told the possibility of an Aero 8 continuation "was under consideration by MMC" I followed up this year and was told to "keep an eye on the MMC website".
As the development work has been done on the Aero 8 I can't see why MMC cannot produce the Aero 8 again if there is sufficient interest, profit margin I suspect would be the make or break on this.
If I could get a new Aero 8 for the price of a Plus 8 my deposit would already be with my local dealer.
Maybe a new thread on "Who would buy a new Aero 8 if they could" would be a starting point. I've already registered my interest with MMC and my local dealer who I would be keen to support by purchasing through them.

I would but it would have to be an Aero 8 S5, improved rear end, Turbo Diesel 306BHP, 8 speed auto, improved Door Handle/Locks, 6" longer, 4" wider, 20" alloys, auto Park brake, heated seats, now I have the Trad Mens attention

The issue here will be that aero 8 has a higher material and labour content over the plus 8. so if relaunched, I would expect it to be priced between the plus 8 and the Coupe. Can't remember the last S4 price but that would be a significant increase.

The only "S5" improvements I'd be looking for would be a recline facility on the seats, a much better looking steering wheel with paddle shifters (auto is a must for me) , and a leak free hood. The Aeromax wheels appear to be available for the Plus 8 so they would get a tick on the order form.

Sticking with Morgan though, even if the new version of the Ferrari California sounds like a good overall proposition. I'm too old and ugly for one of those though! Come to think of it, I'm too old and ugly for any car without a roof and darkened windows but at least with the Mogs people look at the car and don't care too much about me......
Getting o/t but the Ferrari that is currently making me dream is the FF... Room for the whole family, and seemingly still a real sports car performance.. Back to Morgan - TRMan - an S4 with a stereo upgrade is what you need - get looking! Mr T I'm still luvin the S3 and I am running a new Kenwood .....but the best sound of all is when the windows are lowered into the doors and you drop it down a gear and give her a touch of throttle
