Just bought 2nd issue of military watches magazine, previously posted by lowebird which includes a copy of a 1940s German Luftwaffe watch. Quite a large well made impressive watch for £6.99 even has a real leather strap. Will look very impressive on the arm of any mog driver.

Andre44,
So, you have given in to the delights of a cheap watch a is it any good? My first issue American watch seems o.k. except for a lot of "free play" in the hands but, as I only bought it as a cheap sailing watch, the loss of a few mins. won't spoil my day, I can loose more than that with a bad tack.
I am really waiting for the Pannerai copy as I have a real one and I want to see how long it takes before the "bar flies" notice.

Though I am lucky enough to have a couple of posh watches (seemed important when I was still working) I do like a cheap watch (Swatch in my case) in the same way as I like a cheap car as a general runaround (7 year old Fiesta).
Both do the job I need and I don't have to worry about either.

However, when it comes to Stanley, just let anyone come near him!

Hi Reg
At £6.99 it is a good watch! but as with all the watches in the collection the quartz movements are probably about 15 mm dia. I did just take a fancy to this one but think the next ones in the series the price goes up to £9.99.Dont think i will be collecting others in the series.
I do have a good quality copy of a Panari with a swiss mechanical movement which is a very nice watch one of the best designs ever made in my opinion.

Barry,
I saw a great Pannerai copy in Bali a few years back, it had the weight and style and for $490.00 seemed a good buy however, I do have a bit of a fetish for nice watches so I won't be getting any more cheapos.
My Pierre De Roche has just returned from the factory having had a full service but at £690.00 I think I will have to find a less expensive local watchmaker.
