Its nice to know the Mog has the same headlights as an original Mini, a Defender and a London Taxi!!
Yet they look very different. On modern cars all the headlights are different, but the cars all look the same. Harald

Great update, Peter. I know exactly what you mean about myopic drivers and low slung sports cars, or anything else for that matter.
It's a sensible upgrade without becoming a Safety Zealot.
Thank you

The lights look great - the standard units could definitely be improved upon.
However.....at the risk of sounding like Eeyore, I notice from the links to the supplier that although the lights will pass an MOT that they are not CE marked. I understand this to be a legal requirement; how is the law on this matter ?
Should you be involved in an accident at night and an examination of your car found that your headlights were not legal, where would that leave you ?

I have left hand drive headlamps from the factory which cost an arm and a leg so I can fit them and then just aquire the bulbs? Sadly not, by replacing the factory LHD units with these you get RHD!

Should you be involved in an accident at night and an examination of your car found that your headlights were not legal, where would that leave you ? In the UK the owner has much more freedom to fit after market parts than in most of the rest of Europe, I believe we opted out of a part of an EU directive. Hence the kit car industry and the relatively easy SVTA process. Yes, a manufacturer has to fit E marked units but anything the owner fits has to be "fit for purpose": my understanding is that if the car passes a MOT with these lights fitted then they are "fit for purpose". The only 2 areas where insurance companies are likely to pay attention are cats and after market HIDs. Removing your cat and fitting a bypass is a big "no-no", as does fitting HIDs without self levelling and washers. Both will invalidate your MOT and hence your insurance.

Update:
in dull light and at night the side lights are amazing, but in full sun light they are al but invisible, so not as good as the day time running lights on a new car.
Still worth while in my view.
