sadly it takes at least 8 hours to pull that engine due to how it's seated in there and even longer if it's being done by someone who hasn't done a bunch of them so sadly that would account for at least 16 of the 25 hours quoted.

still curious on which dealer in the states is quoting those prices for 1stM3W in Oregon as up to this point the US Dealers have been super quiet and not particular open about how the upgrades are being dealt with/priced.

Does seem "unfair" that if overseas and you cannot get it back to the factory you have to pay labour.

Looking forward to see how MMC handles this in the colonies ... thinking

My dealer is talking parts, shipping and $125/hr labor ... rofl

Unfortunately, not many dealers around ... but if their going to vary their prices that much ... maybe time for a road trip drive

thumbs cheers

The labour times quoted are way off mark, NVH kit is 8 hours and centa drive is also 8 hours. Which dealer quoted this? I think I need to have a word with them!

Hi Blake
It does not take 8 hours to remove the engine from a three wheeler. We had dealers over for a training course showing them how to change compensators during a working day ( from start to finish, and ensuring they new what to do) every dealer also has access to an engine build book with instructions on how to change a compensator or install a centa drive in 8 hours. That is the maximum anyone should be charged for this job.

Well, if it takes 4 manhours to change a rear hub and sprocket, i would not be surprised of the 8 manhours of new compensator.

Hi Mark
It would have been nice if the engine removal method was available when I had to have my compensator replaced. It took 22 hours to repair the compensator. It is now very noisy, rattles so would really like to install the new centa drive before it fails again. I could handle 8 hours but not another 22 to do this.
Especially as the labour cost has not been refunded
So far I am out of pocket for nearly 4000 NZD (2000 GbP) in labour for various warranty repairs,
That amount of money would have got me all the upgrades installed if in the UK
Money spent on improvements good, money lost on warranty repairs bad

My dealer in Scotland says fitting time is 1.5 hours for the steering kit & 2 hours for the bevel box NVH kit . In UK the labour is included in the kit price. Converted price to $ without tax are steering $274, bevel box $655 & fan $208. Suggest you go back to whoever quoted you & ask them to show how they came by the time quoted to you as all seem way too much.

Those labour prices are over the top.ship it to the factory would cost you much less, even if in a container from the west coast
