Problem resolved smile

In the end it turned out to be the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) was out of position by a small fraction. It had probably been bumped in transport. To adjust it is just a matter of loosening a couple of screws and rotating the TPS until the desired reading is achieved on the computer screen and re-tighten the screws. Not too tight so as to avoid damage.

End result is just fantastic. The car takes off like a scalded cat and certainly produces enough power and torque to satisfy me on the narrow and winding roads I have to drive on around here. In fact I am very conscious of the need to not overdo it on a public road with no room for error.

The sound on an open throttle is just superb and I am a bit inclined to give it throttle just to here it growl.

It has been a bit worrying at times but now we are seeing the expected results on the computer log which indicate that the fuel air mixture is pretty much spot on.

Power output is expected to be about 180hp and torque about 158 lb/ft at 5,500rpm. I can't easily check it on a dyno but I can well believe that this is being achieved judging by the feel of the car on the road.

All in all I am happy with the result.

Thanks to Williams and Omex for putting this together. drive brrrm-brrrm

Great!

Does it all fit under the standard bonnet? I guess with my Zetec Blacktop it won't fit without a scoop in the bonnet. Do you know details about this?

Best regards,

Martin

It depends on the length of the throttle bodies and the trumpets. With mine it just fits under the standard bonnet. For a Zetec I'm sure Cereal Surfer or Lawrie (Chunky4/4Racer) would be able to answer that.

It's great you have sorted it Peter! Out of interest, what computer programme are you using to monitor and adjust the TBs?

Best regards,

If you use the appropriate itb's then it will just fit. The dcoe style are too long.

See the "changing classes & engine" thread for more info and measurements.

Great to hear that you've got everything sorted Peter, and that you're enjoying the results.
Sounds like you've let the evil out thumbs

Philip.
