Hi This is my first post, but I've been a regular reader so hopes someone can help me out on a couple of things. Tomorrow I pickup a 1968 +4 ,!!!
There a couple of things I've not noticed before. The engine number has the suffix HME - does this mean something? The usual TR4 engines seem to have the suffix E only. The glove compartment has lid that looks original however I can't find ANY pix anywhere of any others - was this an option?
Thanks in anticipation.

Hi there, Welcome! Not sure about the engine numbers (perhaps GoMoG might be able to help). Click here. Perhaps a similar dashboard is in the Talk Morgan list of them here. Enjoy tomorrow and we all doubtless look forward to the photos! Richard.

Congrats on getting the Plus 4! (I had a great time with VICMOG when last in Melbourne.) Give my best to Elwyn and Neville Crawford if you see them.
Can't help on the engine number. But, re: the glove box, I don't believe that the factory produced 60s vintage +4 dashboards, with doors on the glove box, unless of course they were accommodating an special request of the first buyer.
There are however many, many cars with dashboards that have been produced outside the factory. And, many of these do in fact have glove box lids. And, many of these do appear to be of 'factory' quality or better, created using original specifications. That may be what you have.

Just looked at the engine on my 1966 +4 and the suffix is ME, although the M appears to have been squeezed in between the last number and the E!
I think that the dashboard in my car was made when the car was restored some time ago, so although it has a glove box lid it doesn't give any clue as to how it left the factory.
Welcome to the forum, I'm sure that you will enjoy the car!

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the M was added to the engines sold to Morgan - but my memory could be wrong (and so could the source of info!). Enjoy the car and lets have lots of please!
