Pic of my new Kyrurakyn Velociraptor Air Filter - easy to fit and IMHO sets off the front of the car a treat!

Am sure its my imagination but the engine seems to be sweeter/smoother at 3500rpm :))

That does look great... I have to say that's one of the nicest A/C's I've seen.

My guess is that there is "some" opening on the back side that allows air to be sucked in not only from the front. Where I'm going with this is that motorcycle air cleaners are meant to be side mounted, not forward mounted.



You can see from this picture of my last Willys streetrod that my air cleaner also faced forward. But when rain came around I had to put a "sock" over the front inlet and just let air get sucked up from the openings on the bottom of the air scoop.

Just as a warning, I would get a nicely fit "sock" cover that you can slide over the front when you're driving in the rain.

Even my '09 CVO Harley with an exposed A/C, Harley sent a waterproof sock to cover the element when riding in the rain. This sock lets air through, but not water.

What happens is that the element will get saturated with water and choke out the motor. So just be prepared for the rain.

Good idea - thanks for the tip!!I oiled the filter as a precaution - but will "sock" it too!!

Is there anything supporting the air cleaner? I don't see any sort of brackets going to the head. If there is no support, the manifold and throttle body will eventually start to rotate down and cause intake leaks.

The Air Filter is supported by a v substantial Sub Mount - beautifully engineered BTW - its hidden behind the Filter - so hopefully no probs will occur:))

Do not think Blackadder has had any probs with his either.

I see in Jays pics of the 3ws at Curborough, that only one had retained the standard filter. Gerry.

You guys complain about the back end sliding out from under you, but I had 654hp on tap all the time. I could light the tires up at 45 mph and in the rain, just drive like I had an egg on the trettle.

At least I was NOT prostreeted so my car was a LOT better than the prostreet guys. I passed a guy in pouring down rain after a car show and he was in a Willys with 18" wide rear tires. He was hydroplaning at any speeds over about 25mph. I passed him and then just waved to him as I sped back up to around 50 mph. I don't think he was too happy with me. He didn't have AC or defrosters and his windshield fogged up pretty badly. I had AC, heater and defroster, what a great thing to have at that time.
