Yes, that's my blurrysnap and yes you drill just outside the ash frame, with the base of the clip touching the thin flange.

And yes, Step 9 is essential.

Can I keep the dzus fasteners & go straight to step 9? I have the necessary equipment.

Perfectly acceptable though I find Lagavulin is also very effective and there is always Clynelish... cheers

Lots of wee jobs should end with a Peter Dron inspired "step nine". Most of us have the necessary equipment. Mind you I am fitted with but not for breast feeding.

Going directly to Step 9 is often the best course of action. Gives the benefit of careful reflection before (not) starting a job that will inevitably grow many arms and legs. Step 9 immediately before Step 1 does tend to greatly increase the number of arms and legs.

Wish I had gone straight to step 9 whilst checking the brakes on my Sunbeam. Took an hour to get a wheel off when stud came loose in half shaft rather than the wheel nut. Part of the joy of motoring as opposed to driving. Motoring is what you can do in a Morgan.
