With a bit of luck the merry men at Krazy Horse should have updated my new M3W ready for pick up on Thursday.

Really looking forward to the drive home which is just over 40 miles but the weather may not be so good as rain is forecasted.

I'm not worried about getting wet but I am concerned that my first ride may be a bit hairy and what happens to the leather seats do you have to dry them out after a wet ride?

What do you do, take the seats out to dry them or just wipe them down.

Hi Mike,

Welcome to the Krazy world of Three Wheelsmanship. I expect you have the tonneau this is always good to use to cover the passenger seat, I tend to wear a waterproof motorcycle suit, not forgetting a towel around the neck - very important, I also wear a m/c helmet in the rain for comfort.

The seats are easy to lift out for drying.

Enjoy your drive, it'll probably be a glorious spring day for you.

The tonneau keeps passenger seat dry & you keep drivers seat dry. You will likely find the foot wells will be wet so take care what you put there. If its dry the passenger seat & foot wells will have a coating of dust.
To mitigate ingress of water & dust you may want to silicone seal between the frame & floor & tape up the large gaps behind the seats with aluminium tape. Have a look at this thread discussing sound proofing.

No doubt you will be grinning ear to ear whatever the weather on Thursday.

Tim, the weather was lovely today, perfect for a long drive but alas the car was not ready.

It seems that there is now a problem with the log book, it has not arrived or possibly this is just an excuse for the work not being completed as promised.

Any way I will have to be patient, hope to get it all sorted next week, time will tell. I will take some pics and let you know my first impressions when it is finally mine...

Mike take some waterproof trousers even if its dry. If wearing motor cycle gear take the armour out of the trousers if you want to be able to move in the seat. Don't wear heavy foot wear, there is not much room in the foot well. Take ear plugs or muffs.

The delay may be due to the DVLC removing local registration offices. I had to insure mine from 1st October even though I could not collect till 10th to allow time for registration documents to reach dealer & allow them to make plates.

Tim
