Been driving an S1 for a couple of years. Great car does almost everything I want but tempted by a Super Sports. Would like just a bit more comfort and practicality for GT touring and also I think, fantastic looks.
I would be very grateful for advice from anyone with direct experience of running an SS or Coupe. I am assuming reliability is on a par with the S1 ie. other than batteries, bits of electrics and fuel flow sensors, pretty good.
Price of a new one is pretty steep, anyone know the history of the Stratstone second hand cars, I am assuming these are ex demonstrators?
Thanks for any guidance.

GMCN

Where are you based ?

I started with an S2 and then recently moved to the ex-factory Silver Coupe. The two cars are significantly different in many ways. Coupe/SS feels very much more developed. The 4.8 and Auto give it a BIG grown up feel. I was not certain about an auto but now love it. The manual in the S2 suits that car better but the Coupe is great with the Auto.

The boot is a surprisingly useful size. The interior is a significant improvement. All of the same basic challenges apply. Rock hard engineering with some bits that do need to be adjusted. Sidepipes make it a hooligan.

Ivory Coupe was 2012 Geneva Car. I looked at it and it was solid and a nice combination of interior and exterior. It will have just gone out of warranty. I did track those cars as well.

Happy to have a chat around it if you want, PM me.

That is certainly a well loved example that everyone will vouch for.

It's in the for sale section right now.
I'm going to miss it a lot.

I bought an Aero SS in November last year. So far have had rubbing air intake pipe on off side wheel arch corrected (5 mins no charge). Flat battery in first two weeks but now keep on conditioner so no further problems. Targa panels have been silicone sprayed and adjusted by me but will never be silent!
This is my first Morgan and I am well pleased.

I've had mine 10 days and am loving it. Nothing can quite rival the sense of occasion - nor how utterly special/unique it feels - nor the insane amount of attention you receive.

From small children of both sexes, via youths and their camera phones, to older people (of both sexes) it attracts the "right" sort of attention. Genuine wonder/excitement/enthusiasm.

In terms of GT stuff - I will tell you more in 10 days after my 3,000km roadtrip - but baggage has been checked and the boot will take:
- 1*110l Samsonite suitcase
- 2*Weekend soft bag/holdall type things
- 1*35l rucksack
- 1*small blue ikead bag
- 2*leather roof bags

And have space to spare for the Easter bunnies and wine!!

Take your wallet, cheque book and pen.
Its like a plaster, just do it in one rapid massive impulse and make the rest of your life better.

Simon helped us buy the Silver Coupe. It was almost comical looking back.

They had the B&C dealer launch that weekend. Steve drove the car over and met us at M4/A34 services in the morning on the way, He just left it with us for the day. No paperwork, insurance forms, licence details. What is it they say about never buying anything from a service station car park again ?

We went for a drive and within 15 minutes Maria said "we are not giving it back, give him a cheque". We cleaned it (a good way of inspecting a car) and drove it some more, and some more, and some more.

Come handover time (5pm meeting in A34/M4 again, did not look dodgy at all !) We handed back the car and the cheque for the desposit whilst agreeing terms. It took a little longer than we hoped but everything is relative.

Take your chequebook and a muscle relaxant to help with removing the fixed smile you will have afterwards otherwise people might think you are mad. Who am I kidding, utterly insane.

If I am going to have a bad day at the office I just take the Coupe in and by the time I get there nothing can p__s on my fireworks.
