Hello all, I think it is about time I introduced myself fully now that I am back from a months holiday in New Zealand. My full name is Brian Woodward and I live on the out skirts of Newquay in Cornwall. I run a Series 2 Aero 8, chassis number 354, and with my partner Yvonne we run an Indigo Blue 2003 4/4. The 4/4 is ideal for the club runs around the narrow lanes of Cornwall and the Aero 8 is used on further away club events involving motorways and dual carriageways where the Aero is really at home. The Aero is two tone, the body being Rolls Royce Moorland Green with Rolls Royce Pewter Green wings. The soft top is green and the hard top is sprayed to match the body. I have had various modifications made to the Aero by the factory Defendall replaced with Armourfend on the door sills, external retractable ariel on the off-side rear wing, locking wheel nuts, Aero Racing polished alloy gear knob. By Steve Simmonds sun visors re profiled and covered in black leather to match steering wheel, custom luggage to fit the boot, head pads trimmed to blend in with the seats. And by my dealer a bag to stow the hood cover in and a rubber pad stiched in the the driver's footwell mat. In the next couple of weeks a Newton Equipment restriction free fuel cap engraved with the Morgan logo (supplied by SS) is being fitted to allow the tank to be filled and to dispense with the continual blow back experienced during filling. If anybody wishes me to expand on any of these changes feel free to request it on this site.

Hi Brian,

Welcome!

Your Aero sounds very tastefully modified. Any chance of some photos? (esp ones of the gear knob).

Based on the colour scheme, I wondered if your car was the one in the photo below (however, you said your car was a S2, so I assume not despite it being green-tone two tone as the Aero below is an S1).

Best regards

Simon

Hi Simon,
I believe the one in the photo was Morgan's show car at the Paris Motor show, which I saw when I was specing my Series 2 at Malvern and I copied the interior and exterior colour specs exactly. So yes they are my colours albeit that is a Series 1 car.

Welcome Brian

I also run an S2 and would be interested in the detail of your sun visors and seat head pads, my car is due to go to SS quite soon for the visors, also the new filler cap you mentioned does that resolve the tank filling to full as my car never reads above 7/8.

Glad to know I wasn't too far off <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

We have a thread running on colour samples, if you fancy adding a picture <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif" alt="" />

(And I'd still love to see some photos of the custom gear knob) <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Hi Brian

I saw that car at St Tropez at the recent Aero Owners Club meet,I have other photos I think. It was a very striking and attractive colour combination that looks even better in the flesh as Aeros tend to. Very nice.

Anyhow welcome to Talk Morgan

Andy (aka BtG)

Cheers

Hi Michael,
I shall be at Steve Simmonds this Thursday 11th between 9am and 10am in the Aero 8 collecting the custom boot luggage, if you are able to make it. The new filler cap has just been fitted to another Series 2 in Cornwall and filling is I understand a vast improvement. However it is not a simple change due to the different diameters of the cap and tank connectors and the lack of space between the two to achieve the reduction.
