We all drive mostly with side screens in place, yes, I know the car looks so much better without them, but in the real world we use them. Morgan builds them to look as though they are an afterthought. Perhaps to encourage us not to use them. So we look at flat fabric and two metal struts. There is another way.... Thanks to the creativity of Austin and the facilities at Williams you to can have a pair of these classy Side Screen Trims. Thet finish off the cockpit, and reduce the drafts. The leather is smooth and the padding underneath soft. They fit, perfectly! £230 or so, I think, the pair. You are too late for the £199.00 special offer at the open day! Makes one wonder why Morgan couldn't do it themselves.

That's truly wonderful Peter! Absolutely an improvement. Fits very well, not "over the top". Now the wooden gear knob.....!

There is another dealer that's been doing this for about 10 years now, not saying which is better just that it's available elsewhere as well

I got Steve Simmonds to do the insides of my side screens about 5 years ago. They look nice and cut down draughts and spray coming up through the gap, but make it a bit harder to rest your elbow on the door top.
As a consequence I prefer driving without them in place, a flying jacket solves the draught problem, and visibility is also improved along with the looks. It also makes it much quicker to get the roof up if you're caught in a shower. You don't really need doortops on in the rain unless you've got a long motorway haul to do.

Thank goodness for your post. SWMBO failed to approve my purchase approval request for leather pads on the side screens. I now have no reason to grumble.

I was concerned about "elbow space" but the inside of the pannels are very soft and I didn't notice any difference driving back. Strangely it was a bit quieter...! Must be sealing up gaps where the wnd howles in! I have thought of a driving in a flying jacket and tried on on, but I don't like the bulk and restrictive nature of the sheepskin. I have used my old leather Dianese bike jacket, but again put it aside in favour of layers of thin windproof fabrics. But my preference a short sleeved shirt. Bring on the Summer!!

Very smart. I recall seeing this (or similar) done before - was it Allon Whites?
