i posted earlier on my first test drive of the Morgan. i was worried about the bump steer that i have heard people talk about on here, and was surprised to find none at all i thought i would be fighting the wheel at every bump , but i had no problems with there demonstrator model. I asked if it had the old steering or the new comfort steering and they said it was the old one. So don't know if i didn't hit a big enough hole or just had a morgan with a magic steering setup. but i found driving no problem. you have to have both hands on the wheel because it does tract back and forth a little, but as for as bump steer i had no problems

At the risk of igniting another debate about bump steer, not everybody found it alarming though some certainly did. I wasn't one of those who were deeply upset by it but did get the "comfort pack" fitted fairly early on and it is a massive improvement. The new uprights on the 2014 I'm sure will put any bump steer problem firmly to bed.

Like Calum I'm a bit wary of reopening this debate ! But I will just say that in my experience it is very much dependent on the road , it's possible to drive for miles without it happening .

The "comfort pack" is as Calum says a massive improvement and anyway it won't be an issue on any new car .

If you buy a pre 2014 M3W with the original steering set up just make sure you get the comfort kit fitted before taking delivery. Pay the extra £200 if necessary - it is worth every single penny.

With the M3W I have learned things about the road surfaces in my area that were never previously evident from driving over them in a wide variety of cars for many years.

I look forward to driving over them again soon with the "Comfort pack", the Suplex dampers, new front tyres and zero toe out. Not that I am getting impatient, of course...

Comfort pack was worth the wait, now I need to know if Suplex are worth the upgrade money.

My 2012 M3W is going in for general maintenance, new tires all around, comfort pack and possible luggage rack (still having internal debate...).

Am really looking forward to the steering upgrade as the roads in Vermont have NOT improved over this last winter and some of the frost heaves will send you into the suborbital range! Again, bump steer is road dependent. My dealer looks at me like I've two heads but the roads where he is located are very nice and well maintained. It won't be a problem for him. I, however, live where the roads are generally atrocious to awful. It is a beautiful state to live in but there is a price to pay...

The first comprehensive Empire kits featuring, not only the spacers but complete unequal length wishbones with spacer brackets and full spherical joints all around are going out next week, why not wait until the guys have fitted them and see what their reports are like? They completely eliminate toe change, and completely eliminate camber change, which the 'comfort' kit doesn't even address. As a by product, you also get adjustable camber and castor into the bargain. It's more money of course, but it is the complete answer.

Bill at Empire has had 20 kits made, and, frankly, I know they are causing him a bit of hassle, he may not want to do any more, and if he does, he mentioned that they would have to cost more because of the involved CNC machining on the one piece spacers.
