Not so much hanging on, but not flipping it going away from the line. Frightening to think that the current breed of litre sports bikes bang out around 170BHP and with get to a 100mph in well under 6 seconds.

Going back to the +8; I wonder how much quicker it will be compared to a Roadster Sport?

Have you seen the AR Motorsport advert on the back of the latest MOG mag? That will answer your question about the Roadster!

Interesting photo J, this one looks like it has no doors and what look like split rims wheels with spokes... a sort of Borrani style wheel. If they are, it could be interesting to see how they deal with the V8s power and torque.

I remember trying to hang on as a passenger on a Norton Commando, no helmet, tears streaming, accelerating like made going uphill, getting to 100mph in terror as I was wearing my sports bag. I was 15. Basically a chap was giving me a lift from school to the sports ground and thought he'd amuse me....same chap (worked at the place where I had a saturday job) asked me one day, casually, to kick start it for him. I was hesitant so nearly broke my ankle.
Great fun though...0 to 60 seemed to take about 3 seconds......does anyone know what it really was?

Could not manage without doors. You should see me fall out of the Series 1. Quite comical . . . I fear I may age faster than the cars rot and have to opt for a Toyota . . .

Wow!!!! As much as I detest camping this could tip the balance. If I sell the house we could live in a tent and have one of these.......

The existing Plus 8 is faster than a current Roadster, considerably. We proved that many times side by side. Big differences on paper don't of course translate to huge physical gaps but they are significant.

Of course the question remains does that make a lot of difference in the real world? But for bragging rights I'm afraid there is a difference.

And in answer to the quote above, I very much doubt a Mk1 Roadster would be any where close to a current Plus 8. I appreciate however that may have been a subtle dig at early optimistic claims?

Speedster is more than £16k cheaper than Plus 8 ... very tempting if you can get a proper easy up hood.

emailed james gilbert who is on holiday until next Monday!

I have already approached my dealer for a trade in deal.

Also when I read the add quickly, I thought the price of £70k excluded vat and on the road costs but reading it again, it clearly states including.

So here's hoping that's not a typo
