Why do the factory continue to fit short senders? Anyone had an answer? I carry a spare gallon in the back now, just in case I don't fill up in time, it will give me another 30 miles to find a fuel station.
Great to see those photos of the Three Wheelers doing their stuff, thanks for putting them up.

Great to see those photos of the Three Wheelers doing their stuff, thanks for putting them up.
My first car was a 1932 Austin 7*. It had a five-gallon, petrol tank, in front of the scuttle, that fed the carburetter by gravity. There was no fuel gauge; instead there was a rather fine calibrated dipstick. I wish the M3W were so equipped - it may have been crude but you knew how much fuel was left. *No, I did not buy it new.

You can always make your own calibrated stick. I did for the two speeder, but a three and a half gallon tank contents is pretty easy to put in cans and replace with a measuring jug, marking the stick as one goes.

I expect the fuel tanks on the old 3 Wheelers were similar to that of the Seven - a rectangular box with a screw-cap on top. Alas, things are not so simple with the modern 3 Wheeler... anyone know info about Mark Reeves "bigger engine"? Great set of pics - makes me want to start Hillclimbing again!! I drove Loton a lot - always found it a tricky challenging course - and only ever made mid class!Drove it in my Westfield and my Jedi:))

I drove Loton a lot - always found it a tricky challenging course - and only ever made mid class!Drove it in my Westfield and my Jedi:)) Chatting with Mark at Curborough, he said it was a different engine in the S&S range than fitted as standard , slightly bigger capacity ( 2.2L I think ) and hence bigger HP. Fitted with the sports pipes it sounded awesome - deeper growl and roar.
