Boys Boys Boys!!!

What a contentious subject and don't feelings run high about wheels

I suppose my view is, that if you are unfortunate to live in a country where the roads are covered in shite, flavoured with salt, and a generous portion of grit for roughage, then wear those god awful looking alloys (the equivalent of clogs on a ballet dancer)

In Aus, the land of milk and honey, and roads paved with gold, the only inconvenience is driving over kangaroos -I find those soft pelts clean the spokes admirably

Simply I use black soap (soft paste) with a sponge for the flat area and a dedicated brush for the wires. Black soap, an old forgotten product, is very efficient for a lot of works. By exemple I discover recently it is very efficient to clean smoke soot on a marble chimney piece.

Condor's original question was about Stainless Wires, I have never had that luxury as my 4/4 has painted wires, but cleaning them is no big deal.
Bucket, brush, floor cloth and some Muk Off (if very dirty).
If they are really dirty and I need to take the wheels off, it gives me a chance to lube the suspension and clean and lube the damper blades as well.
All part of my enjoyment of Morgan ownership.

Am I the only one that likes their stainless wires a little dusty with the used look? The car has to be spotless but mirror finish wires are way too loud and blingy for me. hide

The best and most original are painted wheels., chrome or stainless is just wrong.
