I was referring to those manufactures who find a fundamental problem, keep there heads down, fix the odd complaint but hope the bulk of customers don't find the problem until out of warranty.

Damn good blast around the hills over the hills on Friday and Saturday. Still pissed off about the shocks but there is an opportunity for it to be sorted out. Another shock over the weekend was getting a lens back from being serviced - over 11 weeks and £450 and it arrived back damaged in transit so not impressed with the wally that packed it. Did see and get a big wave from a couple in a bright yellow trad between Braemar and Ballater.

great shot.

sorry to hear about your lens. can't remember if you're a canon shooter but if you are you should look in to seeing if you can sneak in canon CPS which is a service for people who shoot for a living. they do amazing repairs and awesome service. not sure if you can get it across the pond but check it out

Cheers Blake
Wouldn't be at all surprised if CPS were quicker - even on my Nikons! First half of the time was in the UK till they gave up and sent it back to Japan for realignment - apparently nobody has the right machine in the UK. If it was something exotic I might not be so annoyed at the cost and time but it's just a 24-70 which should be a bit of a workhorse not something delicate and difficult to repair. Maybe I should go back to something simple and mechanical like a box that stands on three legs, just has a pinhole for a lens and you stick paper negs in the back.

I have just received confirmation that my Suplex dampers, which were about to be fitted, are junk. Damn, damn, damn! I think I shall cancel the order rather than wait, as I do not have much confidence in the company any more. I'll probably go for the Spax adjustables instead. They may be less clever, but at least they seem to work.
