while i think we all agree it's nice they are owning up the issue there's still no overlooking the fact that customers are not beta testers/development cars and when you offer up a premium product like £1,500 shocks there's a basic understanding that you're buying something that was not only fully developed but also that there were quality control measures at ever step of the design/manufacturing and shipping processes.

£1,500? Or the same costs as a weekend on the lash in Norfolk.. Ok, so I exaggerated a wee bit then.. But the thought's the same.

I do not suggest that MMC is at fault in this. The company is trying its best to improve its products and its customer relations. It has been let down by a supplier that should have monitored its components more carefully.

"It has been let down by a supplier that should have monitored its components more carefully"
Or perhaps been more effective in recovering the units that were in the affected batch. How many have been fitted, are not working as they should, and the owners are getting £1600 plus fitting worth of illusory handling improvement? I will also note that, as previously stated, I do intend to give them a chance to sort it out.

Certainly it is Morgan who are supplying the units to end customers but it is Suplex that has developed and thoroughly tested the system and put the package together. If I understand correctly it is the supplier of the dampers to Suplex (Suplex is a spring manufacturer) that have made a small change in the damping adjustment system that has caused the problem which is only discovered under a particular set of circumstances. Whatever QA systems are in place it is always possible for something to slip through.
Seems to me it has just been unfortunate that a small number of units have been fitted to cars before the problem was discovered.
I can only speak from personal experience of the 4 wheel front suspension system by Suplex but I can say it has transformed the car. From all I read here it is the same for the M3W system.
Stick with it guys. The results will be worth it.

No news from Morgan today! Perhaps they are still in discussions with Suplex. My car and I await news before I take them off and put the old ones back on.

Dan White of Suplex has been in touch with me. He has exchange units ready and I have decided to go with that. Luckily, unlike Black Adder and perhaps some others, I had not put them on the vehicle.

Gents
I've been in contact with Suplex this morning regarding the issue that some of you have had.It appears that a reaming process was to blame, and this didn't give the valve the required movement. If the adjustable wheel on the shock absorber is working correctly (i.e you can feel the wheel click with movement) there is no need to worry the shock absorbers are working fine. If however you can not feel the click, then the shock absorber will need to be replaced. Please email dsc@morgan-motor.co.uk if you have any faulty units and we will arrange for replacements to be sent out.
