Parking, hood up, luggage rack loaded and in the dark I caught a railway sleeper, used to edge the carpark, with the bottom edge of the off side wing.
The following morning I realised that the edge was displaced and there was a very slight bulge at the top of the wheel arch.
Disaster...or?
With nothing to lose I thought how can I reverse the force that caused the damage. So, Mrs Aldermog pulled the wing back at the point of impact and I applied my knee firmly to the bulge and pushed as she pulled. Quite a lot of steady, controlled force was needed.
The bulge slowly disappeared and the bottom edge of the wing is now straight again. I now have a sore knee.
I was amazed and delighted.
I REALLY don't want to go through that experience again so I'm going to fit parking sensors, reversing hood up is a nightmare.

Sorry to hear of that Peter. Sounds like an effective repair... Reversing camera? Already put a small scratch in the n/s/r wing of 'Q' (or Buttercup...) against the neighbour's driveway...

Ouch! Excellent description of the running repair though, especially with help from SWMBO.
I'm trying to imagine where the screen will fit for the reversing camera Graham.

Well done both. Could have been nasty.
Have you managed to avoid Zurallic paint damage?
Cheers

I'm not suggesting this is the ideal solution, but it worked and the paint seems flexible enough..no damage to either the point of impact or the bulged area. I suspect the bigger risk is that the glue used to hold the "bead" to the wing edge might crack. I think I'll get one of these.... Parking Sensors Just £40.00 and the display is wireless. So it can sit on the transmission tunnel in-front of where the radio would go if I had one. Or this.... Cheap Version Just £26.00. Sensors would sit wasily each side of the reversing light/fog light.

We might be rufty tufty Morgans drivers but since for some of us every other car we drive has some form of sensor and/or camera I can sympathise with Peters predicament. Mainly because I did the same thing in my sons Range Rover the other day his sensors had stopped working on the rear and caught the bumper on our fairly sustantial wooden posts on the drive. My son saw it happen so I'll leave you to imagine what got said!!! DJC

Some are only doing this so they can pick up Bikini clad dolly birds , hence the heated seats . Come to Newcastle the girls wear sorts and tee shirts in the winter( and I never complain ) . Last year a group of TR lads with flying jackets on in the height of summer called us hard B*ggers can't let the image down by going soft. Come on Guys..parking sensors? Tv cameras and screens?
