Why on earth did you tell them anything? No one can tell the difference without an in depth technical investigation that no one would even think of doing.

In this case I tend to agree.

When you buy a used car, even from a dealer, the assumption is that it is "stock", unless anyone knows otherwise. But how do you know your car was stock?

Moreover an 8% increase isn't that much, almost within normal car to car variation. In the case of a morgan no one seems certain what the power output should be, it "depends".

If it had been a 20% increase then yes, I'd possibly inform the insurers. Or possibly not.

I'm just too honest I guess! Still not heard back from them.

Folks,
I don't regard my car as modified in any way - it has been "optimised"!!!! No need to involve insurers -- now, if I had something mechanical done like throttle bodies, that would be different!!!

Cheers!

Told my insurers that I'd fitted Throttle Bodies etc, etc - didn't seem interested at all. Almost a " thanks for your call...."- now don't bother us.

You were lucky, I got walloped for a 20% increase in my premium when I fitted throttle bodies to my 4/4!

As far as the remap is concerned, they rang me today to confirm that there was no increase in premium.

Good one!

As far as the TBs are concerned I'm relying on the fact that no one knows exactly what is under the bonnet of a Morgan. smile
