Well it's arrived! We've spent hours just looking over it and poking things and .... well breaking things <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/somestick.gif" alt="" /> But its amazing, everyone is very very happy with it. The interior is gorgeous and the color is amazing. Still have many things to figure out about her. Hopefully by this time next week she will be passed to drive on the road but until then we can only look at her in the garage! I'll have some photos later today, but i tool so many last night i ran the battery flat <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />

A quick few questions <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/help.gif" alt="" /> When we went to adjust the rear view mirror it broke off! What's the best to stick it back on with? And also the drivers side window won't raise fully. It was raised but the transporter guy opened it when he dropped it off and now it will go up until its about an inch from closing and it's stuck fast (really really wierd because my sagaris window is the same, half the time it won't close and the lotus passenger window wont close at all until you give it a bang when its nearly at the top! .... spooky windows don't like me <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />)

Other then that, wow! The color is off the scale, its kinda of similar to the Tvr but much much richer, kinda makes the tvr's color look flat, if that's possible! I've been put on washing duty so i'm gonna go wash her off after her being subjected to the truly awful irish weather <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/gloomy.gif" alt="" /> and get it ready for some photos later. Thanks for all the help we've had throughout this process, from the Ph boards, to here, to Brian, the factory workers and especially to Mark at the Morgan factory. Rearview mirror - best thing to use is the glue you can buy from Halfords or any auto supplies shop (made for this very purpose!); however, while it's off, you may want to consider fitting a nice chrome mirror (if you don't like the black plastic OEM one - this was fitted to homologate the car for the USA).

(I can take a better picture if need be but imho the stock mirror (like the gear knob) cheapens the interior of an otherwise brilliant car).

Side windows - I believe there is a way to reset them. I think it is something like holding the switch in the up position for a period of time like 5-10 seconds; however, I'm not 100%. Hopefully someone will come along who is aware!

Lovely mirror there Simon! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Right so i just hosed the car off, whats the best to wash them with right out of the factory and without putting those awful small swirl marks. A shammy and some mild shampoo? I'll be home once a week doing the weekly washing routine i'm sure, not going to let these cars get into the state the lotus' paintwork did thats for sure!

Tried the window trick but no joy, to be honest i t hink it may be an eletrical fault because the passenger window no wont go up or down! I don't mind so much as it'll be back in the factory in a couple of weeks but the only thing i'd worry about is having the drivers side window down overnight when travelling to the uk. That would not be good, and also would probably let in rain/wet <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Hi Jenny, I've dropped an e-mail to one of the chaps at MMC (who is usually very good at coming back with an answer). If there is a reset to the side window, he should be able to give us the heads-up. Will let you know when I hear back <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

As for washing - you need to be a little careful as Morgan paint is quite soft from the factory and takes 3-6 months to fully cure.

MMC say, "It is recommended that the paintwork should not be treated with a heavy wax for period of three months after the car has been painted. This will allow the paintwork to 'breathe' and cure correctly. During this time the car should be cleaned regularly and may be treated with a light polish. The chrome work should be cleaned and waxed every time the car is cleaned."

"Avoid silicone-based products and polymer sealers, as these can prevent the paint from 'breathing'."

My guess is Ben or Alex will be along to make a suggestion in the near future as both are car detailing experts <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Aw thanks simon! As long as i get it back up for once it's out on the road everything will be ok. I cannot wait to take some pictures, especially now seeing your beauty on the other thread!

I know your not supposed to use certain sponges and clothes as they collect dirt particles and can scratch the surface of the paint. I've just had to make mum shake on not washing it herself as she was about to get a brush out to wash the muck off and i know that caused havoc with the lotus <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/slap.gif" alt="" />

Reminds me of the time I was helping my step-dad wash his car (I was about 15) and we were both using the only two sponges we had. All of a sudden we realised my step-brother (7) was scrubbing away at the other side of the car... but what was he using as there were only 2 sponges and we had both on them. Cue running around to the other side of the car to find him using the copper wire BBQ brush! Well he figured we used it to clean the BBQ, so it should work!

It's funny now but at the time my step-dad was <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> as it meant the repaint of one side of a black car! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Simon ~ I'll take some pictures of it tommorow for you, its underneath half the house, couldn't be used for much else only a garage and its quite recent. It fits about 6 cars, 7 at a squeez! Still kind of half finished but its much better then having them outside as we're by the sea, not good for cars <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Brian ~ I didn't have time to do much this evening but put together a couple of other photos. Plenty more to put together tommorow i hope! All cars have quirks! It switched to the side window being half down later, then both went up and wouldn't go down. Now both are half down, it's kind of funny. Think we'll have to place bets on them <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Love the mirror!
