My neighbor just got a new company ute (pick up), we decided in the interests of a laugh to play a small prank. This worked a treat take a long cable tie strap it to drive shaft leave tail on it makes a ticking noise at slow speed and a real whir at speed best thing no harm to anything. But now i think pay back will be inevitable and would like to know if there are any other pranks that I could use if needed. Cheers

Used to do something similar with a piece of card and my bike spokes to make it sound like a motorbike.

Somewhat off subject but we went to NZ a few years ago for 6 weeks with a hired campervan. I would go back in a shot but we are too old for the move. NZ is like a mini Scotland which makes me feel at home. Can't sing the praises enough regarding your health service, my wife has MS and had a bad attack when we were there. She saw a neurosurgeon the following day (Saturday)!

Fresh Kiwi fruit and sulphur - wow.

Best Regards

That brought back some memories.

I had a neighbour who was a young Messerschmitt pilot at the end of the war, he must have been barely in his 20's at that time. In the last few days of the war when the end was obvious he flew his plane to land and abandon it in a field near his home village east of Berlin. He then collected his wife and they fled as refugees ahead of the advancing Soviet army. He took a great risk because he could have been shot as a deserter, but it was probably a lesser risk than continuing to fly one of the last remaining fighters. After spending some time in a refugee camp he then finished up working for the Americans in Berlin before migrating to Australia. An interesting character.

Anyway to get back to the topic: he once related a story that herrings were once sold from hand carts on the streets in Berlin. He and his wife were in their car and could smell hot herrings and drove around the area trying to find the herring seller before realising that friends had played a joke by putting herring bones on top of his car engine.

The herring joke is semi permanent - I would think twice how much you hate the person before playing it. It is almost impossible to remove the smell in total !

Never done. Not me. Never ever. No.

Things that squeak. Lots of small bits of plastic around the seat mounts can cause this allegedly.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

The kipper trick works best on aircooled cars that use engine cooling air to heat the car, specifically the old Fiat 500.

For added effect cut the kipper in 2: one side goes in the heater box, the other on the manifold.
