I bought the M3W for the smiles. I've broken it, had it towed twice and done a number of repairs myself as well as getting it to the dealer for things I cannot fix. No regrets. My other car, a 2008 Toyota Tundra pickup truck has over 65,000 trouble free miles on it. It is utterly reliable. I've crossed the country in it a number of times with no problems. It is also utterly boring to drive.

My very first car was a 1967 Datsun Fair Lady Roadster. I took to having a toolbox in the trunk with an amazing assortment of tools and widgets in it to repair it while on the road. It was used a great deal. Once I warped the head in Northern California due to a faulty thermostat. Ripped the head off, walked over to a machine shop to have it milled and had the engine put together and all the valve gaps set by the end of the day. I thought nothing of it. It was all part of the price for tootling around in a very fun set of wheels.

Sometimes on this forum I have groused about being a Beta Tester but I still drive the damn thing and will do so today for something as mundane as going to the Post Office and checking out a very good hot dog stand for a nice bratwurst!

It's all great fun and having rediscovered the joy of tinkering it is all worthwhile. My father loved messing around with boats. I still love messing around with cars. This one you can actually work on!

Perhaps that is the secret? In this day and age there are very few cars that will allow an owner do that, just because of the sheer complexity of the thing, the Three Wheeler is simple and most people with an average tool kit could do most things on it.

I have been quite vociferous about the handling, but never the less am now on my 2nd car, and decided to get it sorted once and for all, which, with the help of Empire Racing I did, now there are quite a few other Three Wheeler owners who have benefited from that work, and are enjoying what the Three Wheeler is all about. The car can be great, but the factory seem to leave a little to be desired sometimes, but nothing in life is perfect, and I am hoping that the Morgan factory are improving their [rather bad] image now, under new leadership. As a result the car will just get better and better.

I'm sorry Steve saw fit to react in the way he did, my feeling is that it was unnecessary but, I'm sure there was a reason and hopefully, it will be explained in good time and if an apology is required, it will be forthcoming.

I do stand by my apology and most of all to Steve.

I will admit that I come on strong sometimes and that may be off putting to some if not all of you from time to time.

Steve’s right about a few things, everyone’s entitled to their opinions. Opinions are like arm pits, everyone has a couple of them and some of them really stink. I overstepped my bounds with this thread as I AM NOT an owner and just a bystander of sorts.

And that is what I’m apologizing for.

But as Steve so nicely put it, Steve’s entitled to his opinion too. And that opinion is that he’s had enough of me; trust me he’s probably not the first, so I’ve been told… It’s his right to block me and that’s fine.

I’m not an owner now or anytime in the near future. But when I have a couple home build projects completed and off my plate, I should have the money to buy a M3W, if I’m so inclined at that time. If I do buy, I know I will make an informed decision. I am truly fond of all you and the things you go through with the M3W’s surprise and amaze me; as I stated in my thread.

I do see a lot of support for my continued presence here and I have decided to rescind my exit from Talk Morgan and stick around. I will try to tone things down a bit. I do feel that I’ve been of some benefit and insight here and hope to be in the future.

My purpose of my “Have you thought this too” thread was to state my personal observations and opinions. My hope was to open a dialog of sorts with the thread of opinions of the owners on how they felt Morgan was doing and if Morgan was in it for the long haul. I was not trying to escalate or inflame, but just get people talking about what they’ve gone through and how well they feel Morgan is doing overall with the M3W owners.

From the response of the thread, it’s very clear that you’re all in it for the long haul and feel Morgan will be right there with all of you. Morgan is and will continue to support the new and older M3W’s along with coming out with new advances in technology along the way. I guess being in business for 111 years they’ve shown and proven their committed to their customers and as I’ve seen very much so here, their customers are loyal and committed to the Morgan Motor Car much as I am to Harley Davidson. There’s another comparison, but a short one. I think that Morgan and Harley have the same following and support; it’s a life style; “If you ask me to explain it, you wouldn’t understand”…

So with that I will end my post and thank all of you, including Steve for setting me straight.

Dan you're a Yank and that's how we are. I'm sure our Brothers in the UK understand our enthusiasm to give voice. I've always found your information spot on and well thought out. Now if you would just sell some of the stuff you've got laying around and see a Morgan dealer---you've obviously thought about it or you wouldn't share on the form. Hope to see more of you're info.
