Nothing wrong with CatC/D cars ....IF they are bought at the right price!! That is the price that u could sell it for tomorrow - usually a v v low price as the V5 will deter most if not all buyers!! The provenance sounds v good tho - if I were in the market I would be tempted - BUT only at a mega deal price!!

However Morgans are unique and value is more likely to be based on the quality of the car/repair.

I wonder how it would be regarded when you tried to insure it?

P Best quoted £538 with 9 years no claims. Another reason I backed off. My Roadster is £300 cheaper

Saw the car on Monday. Price dropped while we were there! It would have been great to test drive . It's a unique car and having been rebuilt/ modified by Peter Mulberry it has a provenience that should nullify the catD issues. All in it's an interesting and tempting car. Someone will enjoy it immensely!

Too many people on this site seem to think the views of those on it are reflected by the general public when they are not. Sorry lads but we're a small group and we can see value where others cannot. A Cat D car is a Cat D car not matter who repaired it.

In which case, it won't matter to the next buyer who will be one of the niche community.

"Cat D is the least serious category. It usually means that the vehicle has suffered light damage but the insurance company's decision to repair it is dependent on the cost of the repairs and the value of the vehicle. If you're buying a Cat D car, there's no guarantee that it hasn't incurred chassis damage. You can find out for sure by investing in a full mechanical inspection at an approved dealership, or by RAC Inspections. If you buy a Cat D car, make sure your insurance company knows about it, otherwise they might not pay up on any claim." Thats the definition - the least "serious"
