I am really pleased to get my Sebring ( Austin Healey replica) MOT'd today and ready to go back on the road, a labour of love that took me nearly four years to build to Concours standard. The sad news is that the car is going up for sale in the near future, I need the garage space!!!!

Sebring MX (4.3 Rover V8) Built in 1999, as a show car... 1,700 miles only.
SVA tested/ certificated and DVLA registered as a new vehicle in late 1999,
Registration No: T61 0NV

Meticulously constructed over a four year period using predominantly
brand new components including Sebring powder coated chassis and
running gear, radiator, wiring loom, stainless steel exhaust system
etc, etc. 4.3 litre Rover V8 with 5 speed R380 gearbox, both supplied
new by John Eales (Je Developments). In fast road specification with
heavy duty clutch, oil cooler, two Kenlowe fans and twin SU
carburettors for a period feel.

The MX is professionally painted in metallic green 2 pack with
professional two tone upholstery in Connolly hide. Detailed with many
bespoke billet aluminium and stainless steel parts, genuine Healey
bumpers and side vents. Silver powder coated wire wheels with Yokohama
tyres, unused full sized alloy spare wheel, unused double duck hood,
working period 60's radio, Lucas period front driving lamps and concealed six disc
CD changer.

With a total build costs exceeded £22,500, the car is still with it's
original owner/ builder.

The Sebring is in immaculate condition only having been driven mainly
to classic and kit car shows, dry weather usage only, commensurate with
only having clocked 1,700 miles during it's life span. The car is
currently SORN for the winter, kept in a carpeted, dry, secure garage
and will be freshly MOT' D and taxed for six months commencing in
June.

For sale at offers in the region of £20,000

I've only just seen this post and can't believe that nobody has commented on what an absolutely brilliant job you have done cheers .

Someone out there will really enjoy the fruits of your labour love .... if I were you I wouldn't try and back calculate your hourly rate over those 4 years of construction you may upset yourself.

What's your next project ? thinking

Thanks for your kind comments Graham. The car has now been sold to a specialist sports car dealer. The dealer says it is the best Sebring he has ever seen!!!!

I agree, looks a cracking car to me... And cheap I reckon.

Must be a hard one to let go but good luck with the sale.
