The last thing I would want to do I start a scare or upset 3 wheel owners but am I the only one that is having thoughts that as well as a dreadful situation for owners this continuing set of problems are a major threat to MMC? Just that all these breakages of bevel boxes, reports of frame failures etc. could develop into a legal claim that could threaten the very existence of MMC. We hear all the time of the cost of recalls to other manufacturers, I know that it's on a different scale but MMC are saying 1,000 3 wheelers have been sold, a major recall scares the living day lights out of me.....given how litigious some markets are I hope I am not exaggerating the risk exposure. Genuinely concerned that the company may be exposed.

Really sorry to hear of your failure but so glad the outcome was that your fiancé was safe and sound.

My concern would be had that have happened in heavy traffic it could have had very serious consequences.

I hope they fix it up for you in good time - yesterday if they read your account shocked2

Nasty
Are we sure that wheel bearing failure would have the same effect?
You might lose the bearing to hub mating surface, but the wheel would still turn.

At around 1,500 hundred miles, I decided to change the oil in the bevel box box in hopes of lessening the shrillness of the whine. Someone on the list had recommended one of the gear climbing hypoid lubes and I sent away for some. I drove about 20 miles to get the bevel box warm, raised the Morgan, undid the drain plug ..... And nothing came out! I added oil unil it came out the hole above the drain plug and tried the process again. This time, I got about half a cup of black glop with the viscosity of chocolate pudding.
Long story short, after about 10 changes, I still get black fluid out of the bevel drive ( at least now, it flows readily). I gave up on the gear climbing lube and am now running Mobil 1 full synthetic 85/140. The drain plug has a magnet in it and for all the noise, I am yet to find any metallic residue.
Does anyone know hat the factory puts in bevel box as delivered?
