Hi all. I'm new to the forum but have owned my beloved Molly since having her built in 2007.
Having grown up in Worcestershire, I always loved Morgans from an early age. A friend of mine, who was a motoring correspondent, had crazy lime green Plus 8 in the 80's (which was actually on the front cover of the Company brochure at the time) and we spent many happy hours racing around the lanes. I had my money saved up by the mid 90's when I came to the top of the waiting list (and had actually received the letter from Mr Day saying "we are ready to build your car" when my father in law died and my Morgan money bought a few acres of the family farm instead.
It took the death of two friends about 10 years ago in their 40's (and thinking life was too short) to kick me into action and so I placed a factory order for Molly in 2007. With a life time of planning, I knew exactly what I wanted, and even had some help from John Worrall on the paint colour of AWP 77B which I had always admired in his "Original Morgan" book. Living so close to the factory, I went virtually every day of the build process to watch and record it.
I'd always loved painted wires which, at that time, were quite unusual. Several of the directors commented on them as the car was handed over and Molly was the inspiration for the painted wires on the subsequent Sport models.
Molly is a Plus 4 and is used all year round. My office is right by Worcester Cathedral and hundreds of tourists and graduating students have had their photo taken next to her when parked. She always attracts a crowd and prompts a conversation with people.
I have two adventures lined up for her this year. One is a WW1 Centenary trip to commemorate the Battle of Gheluvelt in a two Mog convoy. The other is a two week island hopping trip around the Outer Hebrides as part of a sabbatical (just me, my walking boots, golf clubs and a few good books). I have a few practical advice questions on those on which I will post separately.
I have not managed to work out how to put a photo with my profile yet but hope this link will work to show various shots of Molly (pre and post the transfer of my personal plate). https://www.flickr.com/photos/85842657@N04/sets/72157639894367984/
I'll post a record of her construction at some point as well. Apologies for the long waffling introduction.

Hi Biffo - welcome to TM. Lovely car you have too. Ledbury is a special place for me. Stayed several times in the 70s and 80s at The Old Talbot with my mum and dad. Loved it there. The landlord at the time was I think Ernie Harrison, a Yorkshire man. He always had a good story to tell. Also, I remember a local used to bring his old shire horse along every Sunday. The local had a few pints and Ernie used to take out a bucket of ale for the horse. after a few hours the pair of them would be seen wandering home from one side of the street to the other. Happy times...
