The fivespeeder is a toy for winding roads in nice landscapes, but what is the max speed, you ever tried to go (you know, we in Germany, we have no speed limit on our Autobahn)?

Well, I might have seen just over 4k rpm in 5th once or twice Airfield runway of course.

But of more use is the fact that it seems very happy to cruise at 3500rpm, which seems to be just a little bit faster than most of the motorway traffic for some reason.

115mph on a downhill private road.

Bit over 100 on a friends uphill driveway.
He lives a long way from the road.

160kmh on the highway

100 mph plus a little bit at Goodwood - in the wet........

Never above 75 mph on the public road

I've seen an indicated 105 on a closed course. To be honest that is fast enough in the Aldermog. It feels like about 150 on the Aurobahn in the Merc....

I dont speed got caught once in the early 1970s and got a £175/- fine a lesson learnt well in my wallet .

On Monday morning en route home we stopped for fuel. On the next pump was a Police 4x4, filling up. I've never seen this before, I thought the BIB had their own supply. Anyway, we struck up a conversation, and he was admiring Bumble.
Then he says "What have you had out of it then?"
Me: "err - what do you mean?" - (thinking - you can't be serious).
Him: "Top speed - is it good for 140?"
Me: "To be honest it gets very buffety at 70"...........
The conversation continued, but not about speed.
