Just took a brief test drive in a series 4 today; not for long as it was running out of petrol. When knocked into sport mode, was interesting. I'll take a much longer test drive later in the summer to see what I really think. But 1st impressions are that I am still addicted to my series 1..mainly due to its standout appeal and raw fun. So subjective, hence why I need to take a much longer test drive in the series 4. I reckon it could grow on me; but if I am interested in a £75k aero..it is competing with lots of other drooly cars for that sort of outlay.
I must not give in................

Hi Wolfie, all well your end I hope. I am guessing thta it was an Auto ("knocked into sport" sort of gives it away) so what was "interesting"? Was that a positive, negative or unsure? Nice to see you posting by the way BtG

interesting - was the sudden change in the nature of the response - it was good and immediate in the way the power came through.
Been working and reason for late posting is watching the tennis - i lie watching andy murray play, but can't stay up any longer so relying on sky + to catch up on the result in the morning.
Back to the S4, i didnt have long enough in the car - it definetly needs a long test drive. But was in the S1 today and was very happy.

I found a drive in an S4 a major benifit in that I now know I definitely don't want one.
Great car I know...I'm not knocking them or you guys that have them but the S1 is quite different and much more me. I like it's raw nature and don't like gizmos.

i am with Lee at the moment re S1 .v. S4 and what S1 stands for; but its subjective, so will do another test drive. I am trying to convince my wife to change her audi a3 for a porsche C4S or turbo.. then i'll be happy for a bit longer and keep me S1 for longer. There's some logic in there somewhere. I am sure we can fit a hound dog in the back of the porsche and shopping and stuff for the tip.
Now off to moscow for a few days..well tmrw i am.

Tis true....I would have a Max...no hesitation. A differnt car in my mind. The art-deco thing going on and the styling to die for. Like I say...a different sausage.

I will PM you re Aeromax. Didn't you read his comments on the Lister post... he has no more space! ...then again, he could store his RS in my garage. ...or 'his' AeroMax Now, back on topic. The S1 and S4 are quite different cars - the S1 being the more basic, pure and stripped back of the two; the S4 being the more comfortable, larger (read better for taller than average drivers) and more practical. To my mind, comparing the two is a little like trying to discuss a preference between apples and oranges – Morgan really have developed the Aero 8 and it shows (just like Porsche have developed the 911 over the years) but the merits of this will always divide purist opinion. That said, and what I find most interesting is, I believe both cars are still excellent value – you would be hard pressed to find a car with more personality for the price of an S1 and show me another car that is hand built that you can buy for £68k, new, like you can the S4?

Was going to write a big response in here, but decided to start a new thread detailing my thoughts on the later series cars having owned both S1 and S2 and recently swapped...
