Dear Morgan community. I have the AP Racing brakes on my New Plus 8. They instantly become non-ABS as soon as they get wet-think driving through a large puddle or washing the car, not to mention snow, sludge or rain. This irritates me slightly and is of concern in the performance as it means that the brakes lock up and the car starts skidding when I brake. Is this a "they all do that Sir" type of problem or should I try to get new brakes on the factory warranty?

I'm no expert on this, but I should say that you never have to accept this! You should rely on your ABS, no matter the circumstances.

Any indications display wise that the abs isn't functioning?
If the car has ABS then it should work....

The ABS has worked fine on mine since taking delivery last October although the car has nor seen much adverse weather. Faulty ABS is a "must fix" under warranty.

Tks all of You. I can use this as an argument if the factory says "they all do that Sir". I pray that we will have fair weather during my 2000 km Sweden Italy tour the next fortnight... I see thunderstorms forecast for midsummer in Merano...

A non-functioning ABS would be an instant MOT fail in the UK. So it absolutely must be fixed, no question.

The whole point of ABS is to prevent wheel lock-up in slippery conditions. Water is probably getting into the electrics somewhere.
