A hundred & fifty odd miles to visit friends in Stone over the weekend. Would have done a lot more, but friend offered his second motorbike for a day out around the Peak District. Would have been rude to refuse.. grin2

About 150 miles yesterday, a warm and somewhat humid day. Route 9 in southern Vermont is well known amongst the biking clubs and on Sundays it shows. Hogback Mountain is a famous lookout and this is where everyone takes a break and a view. I parked the beast and was immediately descended upon by a biking group. Even with the warmth, I haven't seen that much leather and chains since Sally's House of Pain! Photos were taken, questions asked and answered.

A good ride. I have to work on the car this week and totally detail it. We will be having a parade Saturday morning and, like last year, I have been drafted to be a participant. I believe that I have a found an Indian Princess (dot not feather) to ride with me and throw the occasional candy to the kids. My car does have the Union Jack on it. Looking for a pith helmet to complete the picture! If one is going to go the colonial route one must go all the way!

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

"I have a found an Indian Princess (dot not feather)"

If it had been feather I could have asked if her name was Little White Dove? But it isn't, so I won't. Hey, just thought of an idea, can she dress in bucksin and put a feather in her hair?

Oh, OK silly idea..........................

Arrived at chez Donaldosaurus late yesterday afternoon with a cacophony of new screeching noises from the back end that had started a few miles before and were growing rapidly. So it was a case of an n about to find out if it was the bevel box or just the wheel bearings. Turned out to be the latter luckily and with various folk pitching in with jacks and axle stands and big spanners we got the wheel out and the bearings removed last night before hittong the food, wine and whisky. New bearings were acquired this morning in Dumfries and fitted with the car back together by lunchtime so am now at Cairnryan waiting for my first ferry on the way to Thrill on the Hill.
Many thanks to all concerned! cheers
