After Friday's fantastic Holland - Spain match really looking forward to England's first game. Needed have bothered... why is Rooney on the pitch, when will a England manager actually have the balls to replace the so called star player and actually make a team play together. I reckon the pundits on the BBC would have managed to do a better job.

I too believe Rooney has had his day. He could have made it 2-2 and didn't and seemed to spend some time complaining about being on the left instead of making it work.
But then his pass for the goal was good...

Yes it was a good pass and about the only time they got a decent cross in. I thought they played too much through the centre of the pitch, which never seems to work against an Italian defence. Of course it could of just been that Italy were the better team. Problem now is Uruguay is a must win game for us and them, should be a good one.

I must have missed that somewhere. When did Morgan bring out a world cup edition !!!! Ah. You've not spotted that Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has gone to Brazil with the French squad. I thought in all it was a good, spirited display of attacking football by England let down by some poor finishing. I rather liked the line in one of the articles in the Telegraph "Humbled in the jungle" tho' maybe a bit harsh. Raheem Sterling was fabulous & I hope that it gives Hodgson the confidence to trust the younger players he's selected for the squad, and to perstist with the attacking style. Costa Rica appear to have done us a huge favour by beating Uruguay, tho' of course that could just mean that Costa Rica are a lot better than we believed.

Shocker; just like the French in 2002 as holders. Then so are Australia  (Nigeria who I have in the office sweepstake are still in there....for now).
