My daughter came across the aftermath of a Red Morgan (same colour to mine) which had just been involved in a shunt where a driver had not looked at a T junction and driven out into the path of the Morgan : this happened about 2 miles from my home: Daughter was understandably concerned and managed to talk briefly with the lady passenger of the Mog. who was shocked but thankfully unhurt, said lady told her that they had just bought the Mog. and come out for a drive on the nice sunny day.
I hope situations such as this don't put them off the Morgan.
There will always be mutts on the road who for what ever reason will cause accidents.
When we have our next Anglemog noggin I'll enquire if anyone has any further news.
So to all take care, be safe.

Colin.

That is unfortunate and I hope they are OK and as you say, hope it doesn't put them off. being red you would have thought it was quite visible but I guess the driver of the other car needs to go to Specsavers...

No matter what the day light is like I always drive with the head lights on in my Mog as it is dark green and I'm conscious that people may not see me. At least I've done as much as I can to let people know I am there.

Having lights on won't make much odds unfortunately, I lost count how many times I've been out on my motorcycle with high viz jacket and headlamp on main beam in broad daylight and still get cars pulling out, I end up hands hovering over brake levers at every junction. One reason why I've cut down my biking days and switched to a Morgan ( still have the bike to look at though smile )
I do think that many modern card have such wide pillars which really do give you a blind spot though.

An incident I heard of recently involved a traction engine driving along a straight dual carriageway in good light & dry conditions. A car ran into the back of it at high speed. Guess which came off worse...

Some people simply don't look, never mind see. Some deserve a good punch, some make mistakes in good faith but I was in the right is not a good epitaph.

Next door neighbour parked their horsebox outside the house one bright sunny day. It was large and white with a bold green and purple stripe. Mid morning, a woman off the estate ploughed into the back of it, no more than 30metres from a T junction.

PS we are not that posh, but the neighbour's daughter had a pony for a while.

I was involved in an accident today. Not in the Morgan thank goodness. I slowed down and stopped at a pedestrian crossing. As always I looked in the rear view to make sure no one was too close behind me before I braked and I had seen a scooter some 30 metres or so behind. A moment after I stopped pum!! And there was the scooter alongside the car completely out of control. Unfortunately the couple, a 72 year old and his 59 year old wife were thrown very heavily to the road and we had to call for ambulances etc. They should be ok but probably have some fractures and shock, I hope nothing worse. The road finished up being blocked for about 3/4 of an hour.

I can't imagine what happened. I can only think he was distracted in some way and had not seen that I had stopped.

Incredibly the only mark I could find on my car was a small scratch on the rear bumper.

Should be quite a shock Peter, irrespective the fact you were not to blame! Hope they recover well.
