Perhaps they are being kind to us all - lets face it the shock of them winning at our ages could be devastating.....

As usual, Private Eye called it right.

Now that England are out I can just enjoy the rest of the world cup without any of the stress of caring who wins. I'm lucky that my pub is in such an international town that it doesn't matter who's playing, some interested parties will pitch up for any fixture.

I've always said that one of the great advantages I've had in life is being a Southampton fan. I'm used to the disappointment.

You beat me to it - just logged in to post that - fantastic!

How did we cope as S'oton fans last season? By looking forward to a regulation battle next? smile

I'm very excited about our new manager. We've never had one before with such an excellent pedigree; it shows that the board are deadly serious. Bring it on.

But will the players stay because of him? Hope so.

Following England is a bit like following Fulham; not for those of a nervous disposition.
banghead
Roy Hodgson was the best manager (IMHO) that Fulham had in recent years. Mind you, that's not saying much.

I almost posted on FaceAche on Monday ; "England will finish bottom of their group with zero points. Discuss." but decided I would get some abuse for doing so.

Now thinking of adding "and Italy will be coming home with them". Really looking forward to the BBC/ITV/SKY etc "pundits" trying to keep "us" (not me) entertained about how great striker X is for country Y in the multi-hour build ups to the myriad games until 13 July.

On a positive note, means I can watch Eng v India final day of the test without unnecessary interruptions.

Jeremy
