Just had a weekend break with a difference. I have a 180 degree annular fracture around my manifold. Limped home from the South Hams sounding like a 17 year old in a Nova. If you have one of these dreadful squished Duratec manifolds it might be worth checking from time to time.

Has anybody else broken theirs and successfully manage to repair or re weld it?

Have a word with Mark at MB Seating in Devon, they make exhausts for Morgans and are also a Longlife exhuast franchise. They made up a full stainless exhaust for our Cooper S at half the cost of a standard BMW one. They have also made some bits for Rosie.

MB Seating

If you cannot get hold of them PM me I have Mark's mobile as they are just about to move down the road as have taken over another business with better workshop space.

I’ve been thinking a lot about one of those smile

Thanks Adrian. I will give them a call. A colleague of mine also recommends them.

I have a Librands manifold and full exhaust on my Kent engined 4/4 and it is superb, as is the build quality.

The Librands does look nicely engineered. It also has a flexible coupling unlike the standard system, no wonder it fractured.

This may be of interest to anybody contemplating a different Duratec manifold. I ended up fitting an alternative to the Librands. It differs in as much that it uses the standard cat but has the 4 into 1 restricted section removed. Had it on a few weeks now and am happy with the results. It was supplied and fitted by Infinity Exhausts. They have a lot of Morgan experience but don’t advertise the fact. They build and supply bespoke sport Morgan systems for a local dealer and offer several alternatives depending on your requirements

I wonder if that local dealer is Williams by any chance? They are just up the road from them!

Spot on Jay!

Also have some photo’s of a batch they made for the sports cat version and they do look uncannily similar to the Librands system.
