Hi everyone,

After the refurbishment of my 4/4 (1992) my attention has been attracted to a few little thing that were not replaced.

One of these is the heater, which has never been great. The rubber gasket that connected it up to the louvres long ago fell apart, and I've been wondering if anyone has replacement suggestions, both for the gasket, and the heater itself.

Cheers!

I would guess that this is a Peck heater? If so i am told by a local (Mog) dealer they are no longer available, neither is the rubber gasket that inevitably perishes, i made a gasket out of, (guess what), neoprene……
Self adhesive neoprene tape around ½" thick, build it up to fit the underside of the bonnet, it requires a slit to fit the top rim of the heater intake, then trimming to make the correct angle of slope.
Not sure what i will do if the heater packs up but i am sure the replacement make will fit ( anybody know what make and model that is?)
These heaters are pretty simple things so not sure the newer ones are any better?

The later ones are real leg toasters, I have owned a 2002 and two 2008 cars and they are really powerful heaters, plenty of air and very warm on the highest setting.

The Peck one i have also works well in Winter i have found, but no real effective cool air flow in summer, just seems to radiate heat from the engine bay whatever the setting. As i have a short door car i can at least divert air to the screen.
Anybody know the make and model that replaced the Peck heater when the company ceased trading? presumably will have to have demister outlets and controls.

Alexander, with ref to the louvre seal, another option is to try Woolies. They stock all sorts of rubber extrusions and other fittings useful around your Mog. Gerry.

Ooo! Excellent. Plenty of ideas there, thank you.

I think I have some research to do.
