Just a little piece of info conerning replacement pipes. If your 4 is around the same vintage as mine there are TWO possible replacements, the difference being in the diameter of the steel pipe going into the tank. Both have a 60mm (approx) OD diameter at the filler cap, but later cars have a reduced diameter of 45mm at the tank end, earlier ones have the same as the filler cap end, 60mm.
Just though I mention it to save someone postage.
