Whilst sad that you have written such a post, I can only agree with pretty much everything you say.

Having owned Morgans for 20 years, currently an early Aero 8 and a 1935 Morgan MX2 Super Sports, I think I can reasonably be described as an enthusiastic owner. However I cancelled my early order for a M3W because I didn't like how the development of the vehicle was going. I think they have far too big an engine that has led to the weight spiralling upwards and many engineering issues have been caused by this weight gain.

Being an optimist I do believe they will sort the product but I am not convinced that they will deal satisfactorily with owners of early cars!

Cheers

I just checked on eBay for late model 1800 Goldwing swingarm assemblies and the final drive as a separate part for sale.

I see almost brand new swingarm assemblies for $200 to $300 and the final drive BB itself for under $50.

These units have a retail of several thousands of dollars.

But because of the Baby Boomers that ride bikes here and are at an age where they feel less comfortable trying to hold up a 1200# bike, the Trike conversion industry is booming. There is literally a glut of these Honda drive parts on eBay.

I did some research on the Liberty Ace and could find some things about them, but there really isn't a lot of information out there. I did find some pictures and has been said above, the right side seat is narrower than the left due to the swingarm being a right side drive for the driveshaft.

But I bet that Larson had no issues with his rear drive and they were all whisper quiet. As the assembly you get a pre-engineered rear brake system that has been on the road for years. You also get to have the wheel bolt on like a car and no need to remove an axle to remove the wheel.

I am 26 and the youngest 3w owner. I bought mine in good faith. I will never buy another morgan again. I didnt mind the car breaking but I dont like the poor logistics and timeframes for fixing the cars. They do not intentionally deceive but lack the engineering expertise to put a modern car into production and treat customers without proffesionalism and stretch the dealers on margins (in my opinion). They could have really made the 3w a success with a smaller engine and more time developing. I may have gone on to buy a string of morgans but now will not.

Yesterday was a good example of comany ethos. I thought it very unprofessional and ungentlemanly that the employees kept going up the hill in front of the people who had queued and paid for runs up the hill. I would sit on the tarmac waiting for them as they pushed round in front. I know the company wants to show off their latest and finest to the fans but I began to find it irritating.

Interesting that with only 1100-1200 units being produced and not many of these making it to the US that the US "authorities" should take an interest to make a UK company responsible.........

Perhaps one of you Gents near the factory could initiate a class action law suit on behalf of all owners. Certainly it would be easier for someone in the same region to accomplish this rather than someone on the other side of the world.

As of January U.S. Customs had only cleared about 140 M3Ws since the beginning of production.

Does anyone at Morgan ever read this form??? If so I am sure they know there are a lot of unhappy 3W owners out here. I firmly believe that a Happy owner is the BEST salesperson you could ever have. If anyone asked me at this point if They should buy a 3W I would tell them NO!!! Because half or more of the time you won't be driving it and I don't care how happy it makes you when you do. The cost is a lot and I sometimes feel embarrassed when I'm asked "Why are not driving it today?" Well its in the shop again. Just a couple examples (and there are many more) I ordered a tonneau which took over two months to get here--a tonneau? I had a rectifier failure, had it checked the alternator is OK. The S&S dealer said they could have a new rectifier that afternoon. I said I had to call my Dealer. That was over two weeks ago and I haven't seen it yet and my warranty is running out. Sorry about all this, I'm just venting my frustration. I am running out of patience. Maybe I have to admit I didn't research the car properly and admit I was a fool to spend that much money for such an unproven car. Morgan are you listening??? If you are you need to respond to this form or you just sitting there going "ummm!" and hoping all this will go away

Am I unreasonable in thinking that if the vehicle is off the road due to un-availability of a part that the warranty period should be extended by the period the vehicle is off the road (or be offered a suitable alternative vehicle).
