I'm trying to research a fairly early Plus 8 and want to know what spec it would have been originally. I have the chassis number and seem to recall a line by line list of all of the component changes the factory made and the dates they applied to. Can't find it anywhere, can someone point me in the right direction?

The details will be in Ken Hill's book, Completely Morgan 4 Wheelers from 1968.

Looking at a 1972 car and it's a late chassis for a Moss Box (5 speed now fitted) but owner says it was originally a MB car. Just trying to decide if it's worth selling my Caterham for.....

I love both, had 6 Caterhams and 4 Plus 8's. Love the performance of a 7 but love the simplicity and looks of a Plus 8.

Morgan plus 8 by Osprey had an account by chassis number in the back but it only goes up to 1983

Worrall's book says that the last Moss box car was R7494 and that the changeover was 1972 (Apr), (if that helps)

Ok thanks all. I came to the same conclusion and as the car I'm looking at was registered July 1972' chassis no. R7500, it doesn't look like it was aMoss box car originally. Still a nice car and still giving it some thought.

The Rover 4 speed was fitted after the Moss box for around 3 years, until the 5 speed became the norm...
