I am wondering, Are there any good insurance brokers or are they all opportunists? i don't know if i'm allowed to name names here without being moderated but Adrian Flux have just diddled me out of a sum... Took out insurance with highways through flux under the understanding that the pro-rata reimbursement for early cancellation would include a non-refundable 15% (Flux's admin fees). Flux phoned me up the next day and said they would change the insurers but not to worry as the cover would be the same. {Apparently highways were chikening out of insuring a 24 year old on a sports car.} Flux changed me to a new insurer explaining to me that the contract was the same, but i have just found out that the new contract that was put in place includes a higher 20% non-refundable component (Flux's admin fees). i now want to move house and cannot get my money back. i said that it was ridiculous as i was not explicitly informed of the increase in their share of the fees, furthermore it means they have an unfair interest in changing your insurance provider. In my opinion it is totally immoral but they say i should have read the small print. (it happened over the phone) would have been difficult not to agree to it on the side of the road when i was told i either change or have no insurance.... any suggestions as to what i should do? (other than warn other morgan owners of Adrian Flux's behaviour)

I ditched Flux half way through my first insurance year , loosing any claim for rebate ( small print again ) as they would not insure track days , even non competitive ones. Changed to Gott & Wynn who do support track days to an extent ... No complaints so far. Plus feel like I am talking to humans , not a call centre oik. I have nothing against call centres , but would rather deal with individuals , not armies.

I am no expert in this but isn't there some kind of 'cooling off' period? Might be worth asking.
Nippymog mentioned Gott and Wynne, I have been with them since getting my first Morgan back in 2001, I have (touch wood quick) only had 2 windscreen claims in all that time and both times the cheque for the screen less a perfectly acceptable excess was here before my credit card statement. Delighted with their service when travelling abroad and their Morgan man is a delight to chat with and very efficient. No connection other than a delighted customer.

I had similar experience with them (Flux), told them I would be selling the car part way through the year and specifically asked whether the unused policy would be refunded. They said yes, but come the time they refused to refund me. It was only a few £10s so I gave up arguing, but they will never see my business again.

I'm insured through Gott & Wynne too an,d as others have said, found them to be very fair, efficient and great to talk to. Last year I had a +4 Supersport for a few months and they rebated the rest of the annual premium when I sold it and the cheque arrived a few days later.

I use Morgan (Headley) insurance & have found them very good for both the Mog & the Fiesta.

Can also recommend Gott & Wynne. Last time I went on a Track day was three years ago and it was a £100 increase in excess but things may have changed since then. The excess for TOTH was 10% of the cars value but no Extra premium in either case. What you may find useful is that they will Insure drivers for a week at a reasonable premium and I have used this for my eldest son and rather more terrifying when I took my father to France a couple of years ago. Need to be 25 to get cover though.

Brokers are "middle men" and I prefer not to deal with them. But with a Mog I don't think there is an option...
When I got the Mog I was tempted to go with the "big names" but two I tried wouldn't touch the car as it didn't have a manufacturers alarm system or a manufacturers immobiliser. One would consider it, but only if I had a tracker fitted and they wanted over £700....
I pay £200(less than the road tax)with Heritage..."preferred insurers of the Morgan Sports Car Club"...and will probably renew with them.

I had the same problem with Flux. Vowed never to use them again and take every opportunity to put people off them if I can.
I am with G & W, found then easy to deal with but have no experience of any claims with them
