Hi
I have a 2014 Range Rover Vogue and a 2012 M3W, the reason I replaced my old RR with new was the way that JLR dealt with a relatively minor problem
On a routine service my dealer told me that my spare wheel was missing and that this was a common problem as thieves could steal them quickly by cutting a cable and dropping the exposed spare. The replacement cost including a newly designed holde was around £500 so I phoned LR and said that I thought this was a design fault, they saw my point of view and offered to pay part of the cost
The moral of this story is that I stayed loyal to the brand, Morgan is only a tiny company with nothing like the rescouces of Tata but maybe if they offered to pay part of the costs of sorting out these issues then customers would feel less aggrieved; I also like the idea if extending the warranty by at least one year
I personally have nothing but praise for Morgan and my dealer,Allon White, who sorted out my engine problem but replacing the ECU under warranty

Phillip,
that is a good case in point.
Strangely I discovered this flaw with Range Rovers and Discoveries and bought a pokey proof plate that locks inside. TATA are far from perfect though as I had issues with turbo actuators and I was on my own.

My Evoque had so many problems that make me wonder if it was developed by the same team as the M3W.
As an example a failure of the traction control/transmission/stability computer module left me with a 240bhp front wheel drive monster that on a wet road was all but un-drivable. Getting home was very scary. At least the ABS still worked.
So JLR can get it just as wrong as Morgan, but they did deal with it without any discussion. About £2400 I was told.

An extension to the warranty would be a good jesture from MMC. I dont think there is any chance of a 10 year warrnty but extending to 4 or 5 years would be nice. Even one extra year would be better than nothing. I agree any extension needs to be transferable unlike the Vauxhall 10 year warrnty.

The 2014 models have already been given a longer warranty of 30 months over 24 months for the 2012/3 cars.
I think a longer warranty should be considered by MMC as the 2012/3 cars seem to have a number of expensive components which keep failing at very low mileages. My compensator started making noises at 20 miles and was eventually replaced at 1000 miles. My bevel box developed an oil leak at 4000 miles and its replacement had the same fault after only another 1000 miles.
I think the car is great and have no intention of selling it, but neither do I want to keep paying out for bevel box and or compensator replacements once the warranty expires.

I think extending the warranty would help us all, restoring confidence and help residual values.
If Morgan Motor Company were able to give us an extended warranty say for 24 months or even 12 months, just covering the engine, drive train and chassis, I would be happy and sleep better at night. Hopefully by the time this extended warranty runs out, there will be solutions in place for the problems some of us have experienced.
I didn't buy my car to sell and at the moment I am having great fun with it, so not too concerned about values of the car, but I do worry about facing a major bill to repair my car out of warranty. I might then be forced to sell my car. I have had the compensator and bevel box replaced in March of this year along with the upgrades. I have a few minor issues at the moment, nothing major. You would get this with any car. I am just under 3,000 miles.
The above is my view based on my experience of the car, I know others have had a different experience and will have a different view. I think we all have one thing in common, we all wanted a car from the motor industry that is totally different than some of the massed produced boring cars on offer today. The M3W is certainly different! You just have to drive down the road to be reminded of that!

I dare say that MMC have already discussed an extended warranty, but I would bet my bottom $ that if will be a cost option - like everything else that has been required on the Three Wheeler.
Time will tell!
