I am looking to possibly acquire a hardtop for my 72 plus eight. At one time not to long ago these were still being made. Is there any connections to acquiring such or an original? Thanks.

David Rutherford used to make them until he retired. I believe that his hardtop molds were bought by someone in Germany.

Check the width before you buy as the Plus Eight chassis width changed circa 1975/76 when the wider chassis that was later used for the 5 speed Plus Eights was adopted.

Check the cross-member that runs under the bellhousing: curved to clear the bellhousing and you have the early chassis; straight cross-member and it's a later chassis possibly acquired during a rebuild.
