It has taken me years to encourage my old man to buy his dream Morgan(from the last generation, where they you know, take care of everyone else but themselves and what not :)) long story short, we both ended up buying them, and have, a year or so down the track, decided to make a bit of a pilgrimage to the holy land in Malvern. Will spend a day or two there just to check out the craftsmanship on show at the factory etc. I guess my real question is, has anyone got any recommendations on places I can take him to stir up a bit more of this self indulgence on his behalf (along the lines of those mobs that put out custom work on mogs etc. I am also going to try and get a visit or two to some parts places to fill up whilst we are over there in the land of whinging Poms ...... :P

Nonsense aside, anywhere where you think I can maximize his new interest would be hugely appreciated. Couple hours travel isn't an issue.

Thanks again,
Lachy

(PS, this is from the tropical north of Cairns, Australia)

When are you visiting Lachy?

The museum John refers to is here:
http://www.bugatti-trust.co.uk/

What sort of places do you like to visit? Depending on visit dates might be able to come up with some Morgan meeting info. too...

Hey Graham,

Will be visiting between December and January. Both of us are quite mechanical(engineers), so anything along the lines of motorcars, steam engines etc or the history of either would be great?

oh, if we could get along to a mog meet, that would be brilliant. I might try and contact you as we start to firm up exact dates and locations if that would be OK?

PS - thanks for the info on the Bugatti trust, have already sent it on to him smile

Birmingham science museum used to be a good visit, but these days it's been incorporated into think tank in Birmingham. Can be a bit busy with school parties, and sadly there's not as much on display as there used to be in the old museum in Lionel street.
Still worth a visit though.
